Investigate and perform adjustment of highly complex claims, ensuring proper handling within authority limits and in line with standard procedures and guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Proactively investigate and adjust highly complex claims.
- Verify insurance claims by reviewing requirements, examining documentation, and analyzing calculations; highlight and summarize out-of-line situations and recommend process improvements.
- Complete reports, logs, and audit records.
- Serve as a team leader for lower-level Claims Adjusters, assisting supervisors with training and developing Adjusters I and II.
- Identify problems or trends related to adjustments and initiate corrective action reports.
- Assist with customer service calls to meet corporate goals.
- Improve claims adjustment knowledge by attending training sessions.
- Guide and mentor less experienced staff, potentially leading a team of matrixed resources.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- 7 years of claims experience with a complete understanding of all systems, policies, and procedures.
Skills
- Ability to analyze information gathered from investigations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Skill in completing assignments accurately with attention to detail.
- Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers.
- Effective communication and positive customer service, including handling demanding or challenging customers.
Pay
$44,136 - $80,916. This range considers factors such as scope, responsibilities, work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market/business considerations. Compensation decisions depend on individual circumstances, including experience, internal equity, and location.
