About the role
We are looking for a Cladding and Canning Operator (1st shift: 6am - 2:30pm M-F) for our Plymouth, MI facility.
Responsibilities
- Blend, mix, cure, screen, and pack clad products.
- Understand work instructions and product specifications.
- Select proper screening equipment to maximize yield.
- Follow product parameters during mixing and curing for a repeatable product to our customers.
- Comply with all HSE and Quality procedures and policies -- corporate and regulatory.
- Ensure Oerlikon Five Golden Rules of safety are followed at all times.
- Investigate and resolve problems affecting HSE, quality, and productivity when required.
- Maintain proper inventory of materials, supplies, and consumables.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance within scope of responsibility and skills.
- Maintain and process all production records in a timely manner.
- Continually improve procedures and equipment for safety, quality, lean behaviors, and productivity.
- Serve as a resource for leads and team members driving improvement activities.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- High School Education: experience may substitute
- Proficient in Mathematics (Decimals, Fractions, Percentages, Weighted Averages)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office
- Strong customer focus - internal and external
- Ability to safely operate cranes, forklift and/or powered industrial vehicles preferred
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and repetitive movement
- Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to climb multiple flights of stairs throughout the shift
- Comfortable working in an occasionally noisy and dusty environment
