CJIT TEAM LEAD

Salary range: $47,518 – $71,276. Two openings available.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• POST Basic Communications Officer (BCO) certification
• Minimum of two years of 9-1-1 dispatch experience in a fast-paced environment
• High-level verbal communication skills
• Certification through the Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) as a Terminal Agency Coordinator within 6 months of employment
• Must obtain and maintain Basic Communications Officer, Certified Training Operator, Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS), and Terminal Agency Coordinator certifications

Responsibilities

• Assigns and supervises the work of communication center employees
• Ensures day-to-day activities are completed efficiently and cost-effectively within established policies and procedures
• Manages schedules to meet minimum staffing requirements and control overtime
• Assists with on-the-job training of new employees and monitors trainer/trainee working relations
• Acts as a mentor to call-takers and dispatchers in training, providing regular feedback and assistance
• Provides input for performance evaluations, remedial training, commendations, and personnel actions
• Takes immediate action to address personnel issues occurring on shift
• Assists in the development and preparation of quality assurance reviews
• Processes Open Record Requests (ORR)
• Assists in developing programs, goals, and objectives for the Police Communications Center
• Conducts one-on-one coaching sessions, recommends problem-solving strategies, and encourages teamwork
• Performs other duties as assigned

Physical Demands

• Close vision and depth perception required
• Ability to adjust focus between computer monitors and closer forms

Special Requirements

• Official background investigation, including criminal history records check
• Physical examination, including drug/alcohol screen
• Must sign a GCIC Awareness Statement concerning dissemination of criminal history information
• Position is safety-sensitive

Schedule

Required to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.
