Civils Technician

About the role

A Civils Technician is required to join a busy team involved with highways and drainage design for clients across Yorkshire and beyond. Working in support of, and under guidance of, senior design staff, you will assist in preparing design specifications for S38 and S278 projects. This will involve assisting in the production of design drawings using AutoCAD (Civils 3D).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the production of design drawings using AutoCAD (Civils 3D)
• Support senior design staff in preparing design specifications for S38 and S278 projects
• Assist in the production of design drawings for highways and drainage projects
• Support in the production of drawings to support S104 and S185 applications
• Provide assistance with drafting and detailing of highway and external works including S38 and S278
• Work with specialist drainage packages (MicroDrainage, Flow) if applicable

Requirements

• Minimum HNC/HND qualified in Civil Engineering
• 2-3 years of experience in highways and drainage design working to UK standards
• Competent at using AutoCAD with experience in Civils 3D software desirable
• Experience of producing drawings to support S104 and S185 applications
• Experience of specialist drainage packages (MicroDrainage, Flow) advantageous
• Familiarity or experience with Revit advantageous
• Confidence in working within a team, being able to actively contribute to providing design solutions
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and maintain a positive outlook on further training and development of technical skills

Qualifications

Skills

• AutoCAD with experience in Civils 3D software
• Structural drawing experience (desirable)
• Highways and drainage design experience (2-3 years)
• Experience with specialist drainage packages (MicroDrainage, Flow) (advantageous)
• Working knowledge of Revit (advantageous)
• Teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Positive attitude towards ongoing professional development
