About the Role
Field leadership role responsible for executing site development projects, including earthwork, utilities, and infrastructure. Accountable for production, safety, coordination, and schedule execution across multiple crews and scopes.
Responsibilities
- Field Leadership & Production
- Lead daily operations across mass grading, excavation, utilities, and roadway construction
- Manage crews, operators, and equipment
- Drive sequencing to avoid delays
- Ensure efficient use of resources
- Planning & Coordination
- Develop daily work plans, 2-week and 6-week lookaheads
- Coordinate with clients, equipment, and materials
- Remove constraints impacting productivity
- Utilities & Technical Execution
- Oversee installation of water, sewer, storm drain, electrical, and communication systems
- Ensure accuracy in trenching, bedding, compaction, and testing
- Coordinate layouts, elevations, and slopes
- Quality Control
- Verify grades, elevations, and compaction
- Ensure inspection readiness
- Coordinate with inspectors and agencies
- Minimize rework
- Safety Leadership
- Enforce safety standards and OSHA compliance
- Conduct job hazard analyses (JHAs) and daily safety meetings
- Identify and mitigate hazards
- Crew & Subcontractor Management
- Manage crews and subcontractors
- Maintain accountability and expectations
- Ensure communication between field and project management team
- Reporting & Closeout
- Maintain daily production reports
- Track quantities and productivity
- Support punch list, inspections, and as-builts
Requirements
- 7+ years of field leadership experience (Foreman/Superintendent)
- Strong experience in site development, earthwork, and underground utilities
- Knowledge of grading, compaction, and utility systems
- Ability to read civil plans and profiles
- Strong leadership and communication skills
