CIVIL STRUCTURAL DRAFTER

This is a Lafayette, LA based full-time, in-office position.

About the role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Civil & Structural Drafter to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will prepare accurate civil and structural construction drawings using AutoCAD and work on a variety of infrastructure and structural projects in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil and structural drawings, plans, and layouts using AutoCAD.
• Develop construction documents from engineering sketches, markups, and design calculations.
• Revise and update drawings based on engineer and client comments.
• Coordinate with engineers and project managers to ensure drawing accuracy and project deadlines are met.
• Maintain drawing standards and project documentation.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and drawing organization as needed.

Requirements

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, including structural drafting.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a strong plus.
• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of civil and/or structural drafting experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, drafting standards, and engineering terminology.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with structural steel and concrete detailing.
• Familiarity with grading, site development, utility, or roadway plans.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
