Responsibilities
- Perform advanced structural analyses of various structures to validate their design adequacy for normal operation and accident loading conditions, including:
- Seismic Soil-Structure Interaction (SSI)
- Dynamic seismic analysis (response spectra and time-history)
- Development of in-structure seismic response spectra
- Evaluation of structural responses for tornado winds, missile penetration, precipitation (rain, flood, snow), and explosion (blast/detonation and deflagration)
- Provide engineering services using SRMC processes and procedures
- Perform field walk-downs of structural systems
Requirements
Education: MS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering, or BS Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and current registration as a Professional Engineer in either Civil or Structural Engineering.
Experience/Skills:
- Minimum of eight (8) years' experience in the design and analysis of nuclear or industrial facilities
- Working knowledge of STAAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS, SASSI, DYNA3D, or similar computer codes
- Sound working knowledge of National Codes and Standards such as IBC, AISC (ASD, LRFD, & N690), ASCE, ACI (318 & 349)
Schedule
A 40-hour work week is scheduled, excluding SRMC holidays. SRS utilizes various work schedules, including:
- 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week)
- 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week)
- 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B)
Each work day includes a 30-minute lunch.
