Civil Site Engineer Intern

About the role

The Civil Engineer (Site Development) Intern assists in the development of engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports under supervision, conducts research and field investigations to support project needs, and applies established engineering standards, guidelines, and project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Aid in preparing engineering drawings, design layouts, and construction documents.
• Perform basic engineering calculations for grading, drainage, and utilities.
• Conduct field investigations, collect measurements, and document site conditions.
• Prepare technical reports and design documentation for review.
• Maintain and organize project files, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Participate in project meetings and coordinate assigned tasks with team members.

Requirements

• Pursuing BS or MS in Civil Engineering or other related field from accredited program.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Excel software is preferred.
• Experience with transportation and bridge related projects or internships is preferred.
• 2.7 GPA strongly preferred.
• Finished at least two years of school.
• Prior Internship is and/or related experience is a plus.
• Involvement in campus, community, and other volunteer activities and/or organizations.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Ability to sit, stand, walk around the office for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
