Responsibilities

  • Cook up the technical bits of civil engineering projects from conception to completion.
  • Help sketch out what a project looks like, how long it’ll take, how much it’ll cost, and who’s going to do what.
  • Check over the work done by less experienced colleagues and make sure it’s right.
  • Handle any tricky engineering problems that come up during the project.
  • Be the go-to person for the design team and project managers.
  • Write down what you’re doing and why, and give presentations to clients.
  • Manage your own work and help others learn new skills.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A license as a Professional Engineer in Oregon, or another state if applicable.
  • At least 8 years of experience in civil engineering, with a track record of leading complex projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, and experience with MicroStation, GIS, or Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • A solid grasp of civil engineering standards, stormwater management, grading utilities, and transportation infrastructure.
  • Experience with sustainable design practices and regulatory permitting processes.
  • Ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare technical reports and client presentations.
  • Proven project management skills, including the ability to lead teams and coordinate with subcontractors.

  • Established relationships with local and state agencies are a big plus.
