About the role
The Middlesex Sheriff’s Office Civil Process Division seeks a Civil Process Deputy / Enforcement Unit to join the Civil Process Office in Chelmsford, MA.
Responsibilities
- Research and conduct arrests
- Perform business and property seizures
- Keep the peace during evictions and administrative search warrants
- Perform background checks on individuals with outstanding capiases
- Absorb and apply state civil litigation laws
- Handle law enforcement equipment and firearms qualification
- Attend meetings and training as required
- Maintain comprehensive and cohesive records
- Communicate effectively with various stakeholders
- Work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Pay close attention to detail
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice preferred
- Municipal Police Training Committee (“MPTC”) training certification or MPTC Exemption
- MA Peace Officer Standards and Training (“POST”) Commission certification
- Pass the MSO firearm qualification test
- Pass a criminal background check
- Active valid driver’s license
Qualifications
- Excellent judgment

- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Benefits
Salary: Base salary is $80,916.31 plus additional compensation and benefits offered within the collective bargaining agreement.

Schedule
Hours of work are 6:00a.m. to 6:00p.m. with Saturday/Sunday off. Shifts and days off are subject to change based on the needs of the Civil Process Division and/or at the discretion of management.
