POSITION SUMMARY
This is a sworn deputy position assigned to the Court Services Unit. Candidates must currently be certifiable law enforcement officers. Retired law enforcement officers are encouraged to apply.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the screening of all persons and property entering the court level of the Ozaukee County Justice Center and operates equipment necessary to maintain facility security
- Provides security in the courtrooms as required and is responsible for the general good order and security of Justice Center employees and the public
- Maintains facility security by monitoring interior and exterior of the Justice Center building for potential threats to security
- Monitors and ensures compliance with all statutes and ordinances as they apply to the Justice Center, court visitors, and assigned employees
- Serves civil process and other court orders and is responsible for proper maintenance and service of arrest warrants
- Covers court bailiff duties in cooperation with the jail staff and the courts when needed
- Handles public relations and interacts with all visitors to the courts as necessary or directed
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 60 college credits in addition to high school diploma or equivalent
- U.S. Citizen; minimum age – 21
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record
- Ability to possess a firearm
- No felony convictions; no domestic abuse convictions
- Clear and concise speech
- Ability to perform essential job functions of the position
- Be certified as a Law Enforcement Officer by the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Standards Board.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is typically indoors within the Ozaukee County Justice Center. This is a uniformed position.
