Qualifications
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an EAC/ABET accredited engineering program
- Registered Professional Engineer with the ability to obtain registrations in assigned states
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil, water resources or related engineering design
- Minimum of 3 years of project management experience
- Supervisory experience is a plus
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience with Civil3D, ArcGIS, hydrology, hydraulics, civil design including grading, water control structure and pond design, erosion control, construction inspection, and project management
- Background in ecological restoration (wetland and riparian)
- Experience with dam safety regulations
- Design and implementation of nature-based solutions
Specific Duties
- Preparation of proposal scope of work and budgets in close coordination with the Manager of Engineering Services and biological staff serving as project managers
- Interpretation, selection, adaptation, and application of engineering, surveying, and construction management principles and practices across a range of engineering services
- Completion of engineering designs, project plans, technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, and permit application documents as required for implementation of nature-based features, dam rehabilitation, and other wetland and riparian restoration practices within conservation and mitigation programs
- Managing multiple projects across the area of geographic responsibilities, including but not limited to, reviewing work prepared by others, determining priorities between projects, and maintaining project schedules and budgets
- Coordination with internal and external stakeholders and representation of engineering designs to multidisciplinary project teams
- Conducting field work and inspections and performing construction management oversight as needed (occasional)
- Reviewing contracts, ensuring contract compliance, and coordinating with consultants and contractors to meet project objectives
- Mentoring and/or supervising engineering staff (one or more technicians and/or engineers) and delegating tasks to direct reports, coordinating workload and resource allocation with the Manager of Engineering Services
