Job Overview
Job Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, skid steers, and other construction machinery for renewable energy site preparation and construction.
- Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment, including checking fluid levels, tires, and mechanical components.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks on equipment, such as greasing, cleaning, and reporting any defects or malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific safety plans.
- Effectively communicate with team members, supervisors, and other personnel on site.
- Absorb ground crew duties as needed, including manual labor, material handling, and general site cleanup.
- Grade, excavate, and backfill according to project plans and specifications.
- Load and unload materials as directed by the site supervisor.
- Maintain accurate equipment logs and daily activity reports.
- Work effectively in varying weather conditions and demanding outdoor environments.
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience operating heavy construction equipment, preferably within renewable energy, civil construction, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in operating at least three of the following: excavator, bulldozer, wheel loader, skid steer.
- Strong understanding of equipment safety procedures and best practices.
- Ability to read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and project plans.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
- Must be able to provide own transportation to and from job sites (non-driving of company vehicles).
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
