Civil Litigation Attorney
Job Details
- Represent public agencies in state and federal litigation involving constitutional claims, torts, land use, environmental issues, and other complex matters.
- Draft and argue motions, attend court hearings, and participate in depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Provide strategic counsel to public clients on risk management and litigation strategy.
- Work closely with city attorneys, general counsel, and agency boards.

Responsibilities
- Represent public agencies in state and federal litigation involving constitutional claims, torts, land use, environmental issues, and other complex matters.
- Draft and argue motions, attend court hearings, and participate in depositions, mediations, and trials.
- Provide strategic counsel to public clients on risk management and litigation strategy.
- Work closely with city attorneys, general counsel, and agency boards.
Requirements
- JD degree from an accredited law school.
- Admitted to practice law in California.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public agency defense.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
Qualifications
- Experience in civil litigation, particularly in public agency defense.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing public entities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
Skills
- Strong research and writing skills.
- Effective negotiation and mediation skills.
- Ability to manage client relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Pay
$130,000 - $190,000 per year.
Schedule
