About the role

A growing boutique litigation firm in Fairfax, Virginia is seeking a litigation associate with 5+ years of experience to handle a sophisticated mix of business disputes, employment litigation, trade secret and non-compete matters, workplace investigations, and other complex civil litigation throughout Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.

This opportunity is ideal for a strong litigator looking for more responsibility, client contact, courtroom experience, and a better quality of life than many larger firms can offer.

Responsibilities

• Business and commercial disputes
• Employment litigation and counseling
• Trade secret and restrictive covenant matters
• Contract disputes
• Workplace investigations
• Civil litigation in state and federal courts across the DMV

Requirements

• 5+ years of litigation experience
• Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management skills
• Federal and/or state court experience
• Excellent legal writing abilities
• Ability to manage matters with increasing independence
• Employment law experience is helpful but not required
• DC and/or Maryland bar admission strongly preferred
• Virginia bar admission is welcomed but not required if eligible to obtain admission

The firm is open to experienced litigators from a variety of backgrounds, including commercial litigation, insurance defense, government practice, and other civil litigation disciplines.

Pay

Anticipated salary: $130,000–$170,000 + bonus

Schedule

• 1,600 billable hour target
• Hybrid schedule (3 days in office)

Fairfax, Virginia (Hybrid). This position requires regular in-office collaboration and is not fully remote.
