Civil / Highway Engineer
About the role
We are seeking a Civil Engineer to join our dynamic team in the New England area. You will be working on projects that support our clients, ensuring the safety, health, and welfare of the public. Your responsibilities will include preparing plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimates for various civil engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design of civil engineering projects to support clients
- Prepare plans, detail drawings, and quantity estimates for projects of various sizes and complexities
- Engage in design of highway & local roadway design, grading, site layout, stormwater management, drainage & grading, and multi-modal transportation designs
- Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals including planners, engineers, architects, construction management staff, environmental specialists, strategic communications, economists, management consultants, and specialists
- Support the development of innovative, technically excellent, and community-focused transportation solutions
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on roadway and utility design, grading, site layout, stormwater management, complete streets practices, green infrastructure applications, and construction management
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer certification
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Attention to detail and exemplary work ethic
- Experience with MassDOT, MBTA, and Massachusetts municipalities
- Preferred experience with other New England state DOT’s
- Preferred proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation OpenRoads
- Candidates with at least one prior role in the AE industry preferred
- Local candidates given preference
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field
- Previous experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design
- Hands-on experience with Highways and Roads CAD engineering software such as Bentley ConceptStation and Open Roads Designer and/or Autodesk Infraworks and Civil3d
- MS Office knowledge
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout and CAD base alignment plans

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
