This General Foreman position in Kingsport, TN exercises independent judgment to direct a group of Foremen in all areas. It is a non-exempt role reporting to the Supervisor, performing routine duties within established policies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferably two (2) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill
- Some job sites may require NCCER Crew Leader certification or Turner Leadership Training
- Post-offer drug/alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
- Compliance with company and client job site safety requirements
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace
Responsibilities
- Read and sign off on JSA; audit JSAs periodically
- Interpret sketches, procedures, written and/or verbal orders
- Assign duties, line up and follow up all work, and ensure production across multiple areas
- Inspect work to ensure adherence to company standards
- Train and assist workers in the performance of their duties
- Supervise and coordinate activities of assigned workers
- Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations
- Analyze and resolve work-related problems
- Ensure jobsite materials and equipment are in good condition
- Maintain time, production, and other records as needed
- Estimate worker-hours required for job completion
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment at all times
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Physical Requirements
- Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level
- Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, and structures
- Reaching in all directions
- Handling and manipulating objects and materials
- Coordinating eye, hand, and finger movements to operate tools and equipment
- Lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead
- Carrying objects, tools, and equipment
- Standing, sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, crouching, or squatting
- Seeing and hearing with or without correction
- Wearing respirators and other PPE
- Typing and data entry
- Using a stepstool
- Working in excessive heat, cold, or loud environments
