Civil General Foreman

About the role

The jobsite is located in Mt. Belvieu, TX and is currently seeking a Civil General Foreman. Our Team Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX, specializing in the natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of the Koch Engineered Solutions (KES) organization, offering a wide range of capabilities across various industries. Established in 1980, OPD has built a strong reputation for honesty, integrity, and successful project execution. Known for its ability to offer both construction services and engineering/procurement, OPD acts as a 'one-stop shop' for clients, enhancing efficiency and reducing potential interface issues.

Responsibilities

• Strong knowledge of carpentry, tools, procedures, and best practices
• Lead multiple foremen and crews
• Conduct morning production meetings with crews to discuss daily plans and concerns
• Assign job tasks to each foreman and ensure proper training
• Coordinate work according to priorities and plans
• Model safety for the team and enforce OPD and client-specific safety policies and procedures
• Coach employees, foremen, and subcontractors on safety policies and procedures
• Anticipate and report potential safety and environmental concerns to the OPD Superintendent
• Communicate and coordinate with the OPD Superintendent, Logistics Manager, and Construction Manager for material requirements and scheduling
• Plan and schedule concrete pours and rebar installations with area foremen
• Verify forms and concrete set within client specifications
• Coordinate with other area General Foremen on planning and laying forms and rebar
• Competent with excavations, trenching, and soil work
• Capable of working in outdoor weather and environmental conditions, including extreme heat and humidity, extreme cold, and high elevations
• Lift and carry awkward objects up to 60 lbs, stand for extended periods, move the entire body, use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and tools

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of experience as a civil general foreman
• Able to read and understand civil, structural, and pipe drawings
• Able to use a sight level and transit to determine coordinates and elevations
• Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment
• Experience leading teams of 40-50 people
• Able to communicate effectively across crafts: civil, pipe, and structural
• Able to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week
• Able to meet all physical demands of the job

What Will Put You Ahead

• Three or more years of previous experience as a general foreman
• Completely competent with excavation, trenching, and soil work and safety considerations
• Past experience working in multiple crafts: pipe, civil, structural
