Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of engineering designs and technical solutions for solid waste, water resources and federal and state projects.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to execute complex engineering projects, providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct detailed analyses, including feasibility studies and cost estimates, to ensure project alignment with scope and budget.
  • Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and documentation using AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve engineering-related issues, applying problem-solving techniques to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Conduct field inspections, data collection, and testing to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Maintain detailed project records, reports, and documentation for compliance and future reference.
  • Stay updated on the latest engineering technologies and apply best practices to improve project outcomes.
  • Perform engineering analyses and detailed design with input from mentor (Junior Engineer role).
  • Participate in team meetings, offering insights to improve efficiency, project quality, and safety.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (civil, environmental or water resources) (required).
  • Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience (required), with a background in solid waste, water resources, and/or Department of Energy (DoE) or Department of Defense (DoD) sectors.
  • Proficiency in engineering design software including HydroCad, HEC-RAS, and AutoCad Civil 3D (advantageous).
  • Must receive a satisfactory pre-hire drug screen and background check.
  • Must possess a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Must be able to meet the physical requirements.
