Civil/Environmental Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a Civil/Environmental Engineer specializing in environmental remediation and heavy-civil earthwork design to join our team at our Kellogg, Idaho office. The position requires experience across multiple phases of environmental and civil engineering consulting, including preparing technical plans and specifications, managing client and design teams, preparing bidding documents, and overseeing field inspections. The engineer will be required to travel for 10-30% of their time.
Responsibilities
- Independently perform environmental and civil engineering tasks, including remedial designs for projects within the Silver Valley of Idaho and Western Montana. These designs include conducting alternatives analyses, preparing sampling plans, preparing construction drawings and specifications, preparing bidding documents, and managing construction projects.
- Work collaboratively with other engineering disciplines within MacKay, including structural, geotechnical, and water resources engineers.
- Conduct technical review and project management for engineering deliverables, schedule, and invoicing.
- Manage and mentor junior engineering staff.
- Prepare and review technical reports.
- Develop scopes of work and budget estimates for conducting engineering projects.
- Manage junior staff performing construction observation.
- Assist with business development and proposal writing efforts, when warranted.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or a related discipline.
- Montana or Idaho P.E. license.
- 5-10 years of experience in Federal and State environmental regulations or related design experience in heavy civil or earth-moving projects.
- Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Ability to communicate effectively across all levels and cross-functionally.
- Ability to collaboratively solve complex technical problems.
- Experience with proposal development, cost estimating, and determining specifications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Pay
US Pay Range: $35 USD - $50 USD per hour, based on candidate experience and qualifications, as well as various market and business considerations.
