Responsibilities
- Field survey duties including: boundary and topographic surveys, platting, and construction staking for private and public projects.
- Technical drafting (CAD) support for survey, municipal, transportation, and structural-related projects.
- Perform construction observation which may include:
- Verifying the quality of the contractor’s work and compliance with the plans and specifications.
- Conducting field-required material testing.
- Preparing and documenting material reports, test results and material sources.
- Maintaining daily logs of inspections and reviewing any discrepancies with the appropriate parties.
- Preparing and reviewing pay applications.
Requirements
- A working knowledge of engineering technology in the field of civil engineering/surveying
- 0 - 5+ years of experience in civil engineering field
- A valid driver’s license
- Excellent computer and communication skills
- Experience with Civil 3D and/or Microstation
Preferred Qualifications
- An Associate Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field
- Experience with Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) projects
- MnDOT certifications
- Previous field survey, GPS, and/or Trimble Business Center experience
