About the role
The Civil Engineering Team Leader is responsible for managing the civil engineering team and their projects. Key duties include monitoring and assisting Project Managers in construction administration, coordinating with clients and contractors, facilitating problem-solving sessions, reviewing proposals and contracts, managing project tracking, assigning projects, reviewing invoices, and conducting due diligence.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assist Project Managers in construction admin responsibilities of all assigned projects throughout the entire course of construction (pre-con thru closeout)
- Monitor and intervene as necessary on the coordination with Clients, Contractors, and government agencies to provide solutions to field issues, review change orders and pay apps, evaluate as-builts, and coordinate project closeout
- Facilitate Project Managers have regular access to suggested solutions to problem solving and troubleshooting issues arising in the field
- Review of all proposals/contracts (scope of work, establish appropriate fees and evaluate risks for projects and assess company liability related to contract terms and conditions)
- Monitor project tracking worksheets to manage current workloads and performance status of all assigned projects across the civil project team
- Assignment of projects to Project Managers on the team appropriately based on resources and workload capacity
- Review of all team’s invoices for client billing
- Aid project managers with due diligence research on assigned projects with the ability to identify potential risk factors to a project
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited college/university required
- Experience: 8-15 years’ experience, previous Civil Engineering with a Civil Engineering design firm or construction related experience highly desirable
