Civil Engineering Project Manager (PE), Public Works & Municipal Infrastructure
About the role
The ideal candidate will bring at least 5 years of public works & local infrastructure design experience in the consulting industry or experience working with, or for, public sector clients. Municipal roadway, drainage, and pedestrian facility design experience required.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the design and construction of infrastructure projects, including municipal roadways, trails, and drainage improvements.
- Manage projects from planning through delivery, collaborating with project members, multi-practice teams, subconsultants and other stakeholders to make sure deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs and meeting plans are communicated.
- Aid in the development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
- Support in proposal and RFQ preparation.
- Apply technical expertise appropriately by understanding project specific standards, criteria, deliverables and best practices.
- Monitor project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and identify opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage design and plan production.
- Manage clients and supervise technical staff.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, EITs, and technical staff, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within project team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) License in Texas.
- At least 5 to 10 years of experience in public works & local infrastructure, municipal roadway, drainage, and pedestrian facility design projects.
- Strong experience working with AutoCAD Civil3D (preferred) or MicroStation.
- Experience managing design and plan production.
- Ability to manage clients and supervise technical staff.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience working with public sector clients and business development communications is a plus.
- Experience in project scope development, professional services fee development and staffing projects is a plus.
- Strong ability to work in a team environment including multiple disciplines.
- A positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player, and have a focus on quality, integrity and success.
