About the role
The ideal candidate would bring at least 10 years of experience in Local Infrastructure, Public Works or Land Development.
Responsibilities
- Manage large and/or complex projects with minimal oversight from planning through delivery, collaborating with project members, multi-practice teams, subconsultants and other stakeholders to make sure deliverables, requirements, schedules, costs and meeting plans are communicated.
- Responsible for managing and overseeing the design and construction of public works, local infrastructure, municipal roadway, trails, drainage, and land development projects.
- Leads multiple complex projects and fosters a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Captures and leads project meetings, client presentations and stakeholder engagements.
- Develops comprehensive project plans, scopes of work, budgets and schedules.
- Supports in preparation of proposals and RFQs.
- Maintains quality assurance and control analysis to ensure projects meet or exceed client expectations and Halff requirements and comply with recognized standards and codes of practice.
- Maintains project budgets, allocates resources effectively, and identifies opportunities to optimize project efficiency and profitability.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with internal and external clients, understanding their needs, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conducts and manages design and plan production.
- Manages clients and supervises technical staff.
- Provides mentorship and technical guidance to engineers, EITs, and technical staff, fostering a culture of trust and collaboration within project team.
- Serves as a trusted advisor to clients and promotes effective communication across all project stakeholders.
- Conducts site visits and inspections to assess project progress and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or ABET accredited equivalent engineering degree.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas.
- At least 10 years of experience in utility and public works design, local infrastructure, public works, municipal roadway, trails, drainage, and land development projects.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines.
- Positive attitude, self-directed required.
- Coastal Bend regional experience preferred.
- AutoCAD Civil 3D CAD experience preferred.
