Civil Engineering Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Engineer will collaborate with civil engineers, land planners, landscape architects, and CAD designers to design various types of land development projects.

Responsibilities

• Civil design for residential, commercial, and municipal projects
• Perform construction permitting for soil erosion/sedimentation control, NPDES stormwater discharge, sanitary sewer, watermain, MDEQ wetland/floodplain, and MDOT commercial driveway
• AutoCAD Civil 3D drafting
• Participate in site visits, agency meetings, and municipal meetings as needed
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients
• Physical demands include a combination of sedentary work with field and travel-related work; requiring standing, sitting, walking, reaching, typing, talking, hearing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, driving, traversing wooded/uneven terrain, entering structures, using ladders, walking on roofs, entering small spaces, and working in various weather conditions.
• Occasional travel required.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• 5+ years of experience in private land development civil engineering design (preferred)

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer licensure or ability to obtain within 2 years

Schedule

Full‑time position with some flexibility in hours; must be available during standard work hours of 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
