Responsibilities
- Supports project team toward preparation of a professional, economical, and effective set of plans and specifications for each individual project.
- Conducts engineering computations to design difficult and complex engineering projects.
- Communicates directly with governmental/regulatory staff relative to design concepts and requirements.
- Represents clients at regulatory agency hearings or meetings.
- Performs overall quality control of the work (budget, schedule, plans) and reports regularly on project status to Project Manager.
- Maintains compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications.
- Responsible for the design concept of the plans and specifications.
- Consults and advises field engineers, contractors, and inspectors regarding the construction phase of the project.
- Communicates with the Project Manager on project strategy and matters that may impact the outcome of a project.
- Aids in the preparation of project proposals including scope of work, time schedule, and manpower estimates.
- Promotes new business for the total company and for own area of expertise.
Requirements
- BS in Civil Engineering required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license with a minimum of 4 years of related experience OR Engineer in Training (EIT) on track to attain PE license with a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- Sound mathematical skills are required.
- A working knowledge of software such as AutoCAD is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Valid driver's license & reliable transportation required.

- Ability to reliably commute or relocate before starting work (Required).

- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant software.
