About the role
The Civil Engineering Manager is a critical leadership role within the program, overseeing the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects while providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee all aspects of assigned projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
- Technical Oversight: Provide expert civil engineering technical support and guidance, reviewing and approving designs, plans, and specifications.
- Team Leadership and Engagement: Oversee project teams, provide guidance, support and mentorship to civil engineers and technical staff; assigning tasks and fostering professional development.
- Work Cooperatively and Professionally: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders, preparing and presenting detailed project reports and proposals.
- Budget & Resource Management: Develop project scopes of work, manage budgets, control costs, and allocate resources efficiently.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical issues and challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
- Site Inspections: Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
- Ability to Multi-Task: Adhere to deadlines, work independently and cooperatively with union employees, business agents and labor relations.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, or construction management, from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of academic/technical training.
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in civil engineering and project management, including demonstrated management and leadership applicable in fields of Facility Operations & Maintenance, Construction, and Civil Engineering.
- Must possess a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
- Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
- Position requires routine travel to operational and project sites.
