About the role

The Civil Engineering Manager is a critical leadership role within the program, overseeing the planning, design, and execution of civil infrastructure projects while providing technical leadership and ensuring compliance with all safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Oversee all aspects of assigned projects from conceptualization to completion, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Technical Oversight: Provide expert civil engineering technical support and guidance, reviewing and approving designs, plans, and specifications.
  • Team Leadership and Engagement: Oversee project teams, provide guidance, support and mentorship to civil engineers and technical staff; assigning tasks and fostering professional development.
  • Work Cooperatively and Professionally: Serve as the main point of contact for clients, contractors, government agencies, and other stakeholders, preparing and presenting detailed project reports and proposals.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Develop project scopes of work, manage budgets, control costs, and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve complex technical issues and challenges that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
  • Ability to Multi-Task: Adhere to deadlines, work independently and cooperatively with union employees, business agents and labor relations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering, or construction management, from an accredited program, or equivalent combination of academic/technical training.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of relevant experience in civil engineering and project management, including demonstrated management and leadership applicable in fields of Facility Operations & Maintenance, Construction, and Civil Engineering.
  • Must possess a Top-Secret Security Clearance.
  • Possess a valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Position requires routine travel to operational and project sites.
