Civil Engineering Lead (PE), Public Works & Municipal Infrastructure

About the Role

Halff has an opening for an experienced Civil Engineer, with their Texas PE License, to lead our growing Public Works, Municipal Infrastructure & Local Infrastructure team at our San Antonio, TX office. The ideal candidate is a servant leader with 10+ years of hands-on, proven experience in Public Works, Municipal Infrastructure & Local Infrastructure. This position requires strong design and project management experience and knowledge of working with local entities. The role offers autonomy in managing other professional engineers, engineers-in-training, and CAD designers, with opportunities for advancement, professional growth, and potential ownership in the firm.

Responsibilities

• Further develop and mentor members of the Public Works, Municipal Infrastructure & Local Infrastructure Team
• Oversee team performance (production, profitability, quality, staffing, etc.)
• Maintain and further develop client relationships throughout the Bexar County Region and South Texas, including SAWS and multiple other agencies, cities, and counties
• Identify business opportunities and lead successful pursuits
• Directly manage projects and oversee project managers on various projects
• Work closely with other Halff leaders and manage resources to successfully workshare across the company on multiple projects

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent Engineering degree
• Professional Engineer (PE) License in Texas
• At least 10 years of experience in Public Works, Municipal Infrastructure & Local Infrastructure design
• AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
• Good technical writing and communication skills
• Experience in project scope development, professional services fee development, and staffing projections
• Experience in producing winning project proposals as lead professional/project manager
• Strong ability to train and mentor staff
• Proficiency in project management, administration, and supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment with multiple offices and various disciplines
• Positive attitude and self-directed
