About the role

A growing engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Team Leader to help expand operations, develop client relationships, and lead a high-performing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who enjoys leadership, mentorship, and driving business growth while delivering impactful infrastructure and development projects.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of engineering professionals.
  • Provide leadership and oversight for municipal infrastructure and private development projects.
  • Build and strengthen client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
  • Lead proposal development, responses to RFPs, and contract negotiations.
  • Serve as a technical resource for project management, quality assurance, and staff development.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to execute strategic growth initiatives and expand market presence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Iowa or ability to obtain.
  • 8+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, including project management and/or business development responsibilities.
  • Experience with municipal infrastructure, land development, water resources, transportation, permitting, and construction projects.
  • Strong client-facing, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to grow teams, manage projects, and develop business opportunities.

Pay

$125,000 - $165,000 per year
