Civil Engineering Intern - Land Development
About the role
As a Land Development Engineering Intern at Surveying And Mapping, LLC (SAM), you will work alongside experienced Project Engineers on a range of civil engineering projects, including commercial developments, residential neighborhoods, and public infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Aid in land development projects from early planning through design, permitting, and construction
- Support site layout and grading design work
- Prepare drawings and assist with plan production using CAD software
- Contribute to drainage modeling and Drainage Impact Studies
- Support construction phase work including quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, site visits, and shop drawing reviews
- Collaborate with Project Engineers and team members to ensure projects progress smoothly
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should currently be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering at the sophomore level or higher. While exposure to AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred, it is not mandatory. Essential qualities include strong learning abilities, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for detail. A positive attitude and teamwork skills are also crucial.

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (at least sophomore level or higher)
