Civil Engineering Intern (Airfields) - Summer 2027
About the Role
RS&H is currently seeking an Aviation Engineering Intern to join our Aviation Infrastructure team in Los Angeles, California. This in-office position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of conventional and design-build projects, combining innovative design with technical expertise to exceed client expectations and deliver cost-effective solutions.
Responsibilities
As an Aviation Engineering Intern, you will gain valuable experience working alongside our team on projects that serve both large and small airports. You will contribute to various aspects of aviation infrastructure, including airfields, environmental planning, and environmental stewardship & resiliency.
Requirements
- Current student pursuing a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited university
- 2.5 GPA or above
- Anticipated graduation date of December 2026 or May/June 2027
- Ability to report to the Los Angeles, CA office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or related experience
- Experience with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience or exposure to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars
- Specific interest in Aviation Infrastructure
Pay
The typical pay rate for this position in Los Angeles is $25 – $29 per hour, commensurate with experience relative to the position.
