Responsibilities
- Supporting highway transportation projects
- Collecting engineering information and data
- Performing computations and analyses
- Preparing engineering drawings and maps
- Compiling design calculations
- Performing traffic and safety studies
- Writing engineering reports and technical documentation
- Performing field work
- Collaborating with internal team members to integrate design inputs across disciplines
Qualifications
- Foundational skills in Civil Engineering Design, including preparation of plans, calculations, and basic infrastructure layouts
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field, or equivalent relevant education
- Basic proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD or MicroStation); exposure to civil design tools (e.g., Civil 3D, InRoads) is preferred
- Familiarity with highway and traffic engineering design standards such as the Highway Capacity Manual, AASTHO Highway Safety Manual, AASHTO Greenbook or the MUTCD
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and quantitative skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in drawings and calculations
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification holder preferred
