Civil Engineer Transportation Manager

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building codes and regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
• Conduct inspections on construction sites to ensure adherence to approved plans and safety standards.
• Issue permits and maintain accurate records of all issued permits.
• Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers.
• Respond to inquiries from the public regarding building codes and regulations.
• Participate in code enforcement activities and investigations as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection and code enforcement.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Experience with GIS software is a plus.

Skills

• Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
• Knowledge of building materials and construction techniques.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Pay

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
