About the role
SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building codes and regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Review construction plans and ensure compliance with local building codes and regulations.
- Conduct inspections on construction sites to ensure adherence to approved plans and safety standards.
- Issue permits and maintain accurate records of all issued permits.
- Provide technical guidance and training to contractors and developers.
- Respond to inquiries from the public regarding building codes and regulations.
- Participate in code enforcement activities and investigations as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection and code enforcement.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Experience with GIS software is a plus.
Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD or similar drafting software.
- Knowledge of building materials and construction techniques.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Pay
Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on experience.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend work required.
