Civil Engineer (Stormwater/Flood Protection)

About the role
This role can be based out of any of the following Arcadis offices: Baton Rouge, LA or Metairie, LA. We are looking for a candidate with experience ranging from concept level planning to the preparation of detailed engineering designs and construction specifications for municipal drainage and water/wastewater infrastructure projects.
Project examples for this role may include condition assessments, rehabilitation and/or new construction of open channel and subsurface drainage collection systems, drainage pumping stations, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer collection systems, and sanitary sewer lift stations. There will be a focus on system hydraulic design, project layout, geometrics, and survey control; grading and drainage design; and subsurface utility coordination and relocation.
Responsibilities
- Lead a design team in the preparation of engineering reports, design calculations, design drawings, contract specifications, and oversee the preparation of construction quantity takeoffs and construction cost estimates using guidelines from federal, state, regional, and municipal agencies.
- Provide technical expertise on multi-disciplined projects as a design leader, QA/QC reviewer, or technical advisor.
- Navigate local and state permitting requirements to obtain regulatory approvals.
- Supervise and support the work of others while mentoring junior level staff.
- Work directly with clients to identify needs, develop solutions, and grow relationships with target clients.
- Think in an innovative and entrepreneurial manner to deliver the very best solutions to our clients.
Requirements
- 10 years or more of relevant experience.
- BS degree in Civil Engineering.
- PE License in Louisiana.
Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil3D and related drainage/water systems design tools.
- Client-facing experience and ability to develop contacts and relationships.
- Ability to produce quality materials on schedule while managing multiple projects.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $135,000/year. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project, and location.
