About the role
Stantec is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land development projects and be ready to contribute to a variety of civil engineering tasks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, grade, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil engineering design documents.
- Develop three-dimensional models of civil systems.
- Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases.
- Participate in coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Prepare estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis with oversight from senior staff.
- Develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule under the guidance and the tutelage of senior staff members.
- Afford assistance with the preparation and coordination of project specifications associated with construction documents.
- Utilize techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements under the guidance of others.
- Help conduct quality assurance and quality control on their own projects.
- Work on multiple projects.
Qualifications
- Experience with land development projects in the Portland market.
- Basic knowledge in the application of agency and industry applicable codes.
- General understanding of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
- Working knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Ability to manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
- Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and to engage in creative and critical thought.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, etc.).
- Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer-In-Training Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience.
- Local project resume and experience strongly preferred.
