About the role

Stantec is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in land development projects and be ready to contribute to a variety of civil engineering tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, grade, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil engineering design documents.
  • Develop three-dimensional models of civil systems.
  • Prepare and revise documentation in various civil phases.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Prepare estimates and basic opinion of cost analysis with oversight from senior staff.
  • Develop and manage the project scope, budget, staffing, and schedule under the guidance and the tutelage of senior staff members.
  • Afford assistance with the preparation and coordination of project specifications associated with construction documents.
  • Utilize techniques for the analysis of specialized civil elements under the guidance of others.
  • Help conduct quality assurance and quality control on their own projects.
  • Work on multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Experience with land development projects in the Portland market.
  • Basic knowledge in the application of agency and industry applicable codes.
  • General understanding of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of civil systems means and methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Ability to effectively discuss project issues with clients and reviewing agencies.
  • Excellent time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and to engage in creative and critical thought.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, etc.).
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and good driving record.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering.
  • Engineer-In-Training Certificate.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Local project resume and experience strongly preferred.
