About the role

Barr is seeking a civil engineer to join our Hibbing, Minnesota, team. This hybrid role involves supporting the Engineering and Design civil engineering group with engineering design and analysis for site layout, grading, drainage, and mass earthwork.

Responsibilities

  • Designing site development designs.
  • Reporting and presenting: providing written and oral technical guidance, preparing permit review summaries, and presenting findings to decision-making bodies.
  • Performing calculations, conducting data analysis, and compiling technical reports.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.

Software: Familiarity with AutoCAD and Civil 3D, experience with Microsoft Office and PDF editing software.

Driver’s license: Possession of a current, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Qualifications

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.

Skills

Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, excellent organizational skills, including scheduling, prioritizing, and follow-up, and the ability to effectively present technical information to diverse audiences.

Pay

This position can be based out of Barr's Hibbing, Minnesota, office and may involve up to 10 percent domestic fieldwork. Travel expectations are up to 10 percent.
