Civil Engineer – Entry Level

About the role

KSE is a mid-size engineering and construction management firm ranking in the ENR Top 100 for CM and ENR Top 500 for design services. With seven offices across four states (NY, NJ, PA and CT), the firm has been providing civil, structural, highway, transportation, geotechnical, survey, special inspections and construction management services for public infrastructure projects for more than three and half decades.

Responsibilities

• Site/civil/highway design including grading, roadway, storm water management, green infrastructure, water and sewer mains, signing, and erosion and sediment control design.
• Preparation of associated calculations, reports, and spreadsheets.
• Working on design teams in all aspects of a given project to develop detailed design documents for construction plans.
• Plan preparation using AutoCAD.
• Field work including investigations, data collection, sign and roadway infrastructure inventory collection, and observation of soil borings.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Previous internship experience is desired but not required.
• Some exposure to Site/civil/highway design is a plus.
• EIT is desired but not required.
• Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office software.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods (often 6–8 hours a day).
• Maintaining posture while working at a computer.
• Short periods of standing or walking within the office (to printers, meeting rooms, etc.).

Pay

$60,000 - $70,000 annually
