About the role
Moffatt & Nichol specializes in large complex waterfront infrastructure projects and is recognized as one of the worldwide leaders in this field. We are actively looking for an Entry Level Civil Engineer to join our Norfolk office.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Aid in the study of project concepts, architectural drawings, and models
- Create feasibility studies by analyzing engineering designs, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data
- Prepare design documents and reports for civil site development (site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems)
- Perform calculations, prepare cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications, and write reports
- Aid in the production of engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules
- Support construction and data collection through limited field observations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required
- Engineer in Training certification preferred
- 0 to 2 years of experience as a civil engineer, preferably with experience in site layout, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
- Related internship experience for entry-level candidates is required
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil3D MicroStation and experience in stormwater modeling using WaterCAD or SWMM software is desired
- Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
