Responsibilities
- Develop and review Statements of Work (SOW), Performance Work Statements (PWS), and project documentation
- Coordinate with customers and other Governmental personnel and agencies, as necessary, to define project requirements, ensure compliance with Federal and Air Force regulations
- Draft Performance Work Statements (PWS), prepare draft Statements of Work (SOW), draft programming documents, and develop cost estimates, briefings and other components of the programming / acquisition package for Government approval and submission
- Independently conduct technical and cost reviews of facility project design submittals, standard design templates, charrette reports, and facility design standards/tools prepared by architect-engineers
- Comprehensively verify the technical compliance of all aspects of the design with applicable Air Force (AF) and national standards, criteria, and specifications, providing specific citations for each finding
- Thoroughly validate the cost estimate provided by the designer, citing specific areas with questionable basis
- Aid in the development of various project management tools, including project management plans, construction management documents, and required enterprise business system data entry for assigned projects
- Aid in planning/design charrette activities; oversee contractor work in progress; and perform quality assurance/quality control
- Conduct a comprehensive technical review of contract submittals, requests for information, change order requests, or other real-time interactions with a design or construction contractor
- Affiliate in the coordination of and attendance at selected project development meetings, contract review meetings, pre-construction meetings, and other pertinent meetings to coordinate information with installation activities
- Prepare, develop, or review design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, underlying analysis, technical drawings, and specifications related to a wide variety of projects and mechanical systems, to include plumbing (potable water and sanitary sewer); Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC); fire suppression, control, and alarm systems
- Prepare, develop or review design calculations, cost estimates, schedules, underlying analysis, technical drawings, and specifications related to a wide variety of projects and systems, to include airfields, roadways, site/area development, drainage, foundations, structures, transportation; drainage and other systems of major size and complexity for use on a military installation, airfields, multi-story office buildings, large utility plants, hospitals, hangars, flight simulators, and similar structures
Requirements
- Active Secret clearance preferred
- ABET-accredited Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Experience coordinating with government customers, installation personnel, or architect-engineers
- Experience with airfields and roadways projects
- Experience with site development and drainage projects
- Experience with utility systems projects
- Experience with building or facility projects such as hangars, hospitals, and office buildings
- Familiarity with Primavera and RSMeans
