Civil Engineer EIT
About the role
Stantec is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training to join our team based out of our Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana offices. This position will work closely with senior engineers, project managers, and construction teams to deliver resilient infrastructure for private and public-sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Aid in planning, design, and analysis of flood control structures, including levees, pump stations, floodwalls, floodgates, and drainage facilities.
- Prepare engineering calculations, technical memoranda, and design reports.
- Develop and review construction drawings and specifications under the supervision of licensed engineers.
- Support construction management activities, including shop drawing review, RFIs, submittals, and field observations.
- Support quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and schedules.
- Coverage and coordination with multidisciplinary teams (structural, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical).
- Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Support quality control and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related discipline (or currently pursuing).
- EI certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe preferred.
Qualifications
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
