CIVIL ENGINEER

About the role

Bloom is seeking a highly motivated Civil Engineer to work with a growing civil engineering group on a diverse variety of projects. Current project work includes civil site development for new and redeveloped sites, grading design, stormwater hydraulic and hydrologic design, and civil utility design. Responsibilities

• Conduct site visits and general data collection efforts to support design.
• Design civil utilities: water distribution networks, storm sewers, and sanitary sewers.
• Design civil site features such as roads, sidewalks, and other site elements to support the overall site plan.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and other site utility designs.
• Draft, review, and finalize stormwater management plans, including water quality and quantity calculations and modeling.
• Develop grading plans to support overall site plan objectives.
• Bring all project deliverables to completion in a team setting, including plans, specifications, permits, and design reports. Civil plans may include existing conditions, traffic control, erosion control, demolition, site layout, grading, utility plans and profiles, and details.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.
• Interact and communicate effectively with Bloom leadership, design team members, clients, project owners, and other stakeholders.
• Attend project meetings and represent the company professionally.
• Participate in Bloom’s mentor/mentee culture.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience.
• Ability to work in a team setting to complete assigned project design tasks.
• Good decision-making skills, flexibility, focus on quality, and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills.
