About the role
This 12-month position is for a Senior Sitework Engineer supporting the Client’s Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Substation Design Group and the Transmission Line Design Group. The Engineer will produce engineering drawings, specifications, and material requirements for Civil Sitework design projects, including grading and drainage, erosion control, oil containment, and more, with an emphasis on safety, quality, scheduling, and costs. Approximately 25% travel is required.
Responsibilities
- Produce engineering drawings, specifications, and material requirements for Civil Sitework design projects.
- Design Civil Sitework land development projects, including site grading, stormwater design, erosion control, and permitting.
- Read, interpret, and apply design criteria and government regulations to design construction drawings.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydraflow hydrographs, ICPR, or similar software for stormwater modeling.
- Demonstrate proficiency with standard office software applications.
- Exhibit strong problem-solving skills and work effectively in a team environment.
- Communicate technical issues clearly and build relationships with peers, internal and external customers, and the public.
- Manage multiple projects with competing deadlines using effective time management and organizational skills.
- Maintain a customer-focused approach and solicit feedback to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (BS in Civil Engineering strongly preferred).
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certification required.
- Professional Engineers (PE) license in Georgia strongly preferred or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
- Detailed knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations governing civil grading design and construction (e.g., NPDES).
- General knowledge of surveying, land acquisition, and obtaining easements.
- Detailed knowledge of cost estimating, quantity takeoffs, and civil construction methods, equipment, and techniques.
- Detailed knowledge of right-of-way clearing, environmental regulations, and crew support activities.
- Occasional travel for field meetings and site visits.
- Required PPE: Hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, and safety gloves.
Schedule
Hybrid: Monday–Thursday in office, Friday remote.
