Civil Designer

We design, build, and operate some of the largest and most efficient solar plants for leading utility companies and asset owners.

About the role

As a Civil Designer at our Katy, TX facility (greater Houston area), you will play a pivotal role in building new PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) plants across the country. This position is not eligible for VISA sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil design of PV and BESS project sites, including grading surfaces, crossing exhibits, and drawing packages for field use
• Coordinate with engineers to ensure all technical design requirements are represented in the drawing package
• Manage day-to-day workflow to balance multiple projects in development simultaneously
• Provide feedback to the CAD Manager on the effectiveness of CAD department processes
• Extract points and surfaces for field use during project construction
• Review GIS data to ensure construction aligns with civil design in the field
• Analyze contours and topographic survey data to produce preliminary grading surfaces
• Review ALTA survey documents to assist in developing base files for drawing packages

Requirements

• AutoCAD drafting experience, including sheet-set manager, blocks, and x-references
• Civil 3D civil design experience
• Understanding of general drafting standards

Skills

The following skills will put you ahead:

• PV or BESS Civil Design experience
• 2D or 3D Design experience in non-Autodesk software
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat or BlueBeam Revu
• Knowledge of LISP, .NET, Python, or Dynamo programming
