Summary
Mortenson is seeking a Truck Operator to operate various trucks as directed while adhering to safety regulations.Responsibilities
- Operate Water Truck, Dump Truck, Haul Truck, Tractor Trailer/Lowboy based on project requirements
- Follow prescribed safety regulations
- Maintain housekeeping in assigned area
- Perform routine maintenance including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning
- Observe equipment operation to detect malfunctions
- Follow work plans and pre-task cards
- Build and maintain effective relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
- Perform all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Related construction experience preferred
- Current driver’s license of proper classification and necessary endorsements as required by law
- Strong teamwork orientation
- Positive attitude and professional customer service skills
- Detail orientation
- Ability to move levers, shift gears, depress pedals, and maneuver steering wheel to operate equipment
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and load charts
- Knowledge of equipment and their uses
- Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, and multiplication)
- Ability to work independently
- Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback
- Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
