Responsibilities
- Loads truck by hand or by operating mechanical loader.
- Pulls levers or turns crank to tilt body and dump contents.
- Performs inspections of vehicle systems, equipment and accessories such as tires, lights, turn signals and brakes.
- Ensures cargo is properly loaded according to safety requirements, size up load.
- Follows all safety policies, procedures and legislation, at all times observes and operates within applicable traffic laws.
- Communicates with other Haul Truck Drivers and equipment operators using communication devices such as a two-way radio or onboard computers.
- Moves hand and foot controls to jerk truck forward and backward to loosen and dump material adhering to body.
Requirements
- High School diploma/GED.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of haul truck driving experience or a minimum of 2 years of training with a minimum of 6 months of equivalent work experience.
- Must have 1+ year in maintaining log books.
- Willing to do labor work.
- Able to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
