CIVIL COMMITMENT LIAISON

Job Responsibilities

• Treatment of clients through group, individual, and family therapy sessions
• Crisis management and direct clinical services for adults and children with various mental health needs
• Diagnostic impressions, clinical assessments, and referrals as needed

Job Duties

• Create partnerships with community stakeholders such as local police and hospital staff
• Collaborate with the Chancery Clerk's office to reduce the filing of unnecessary involuntary commitment affidavits
• Assess and monitor commitment evaluations and hearings to prevent unnecessary admissions to state hospitals
• Work with local authorities to assess mental health needs during law enforcement interventions
• Assess individuals to determine appropriate services and resources and make referrals as necessary
• Provide case and program consultations with family and external resources as needed
