About the role

The Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Associate Civil Engineering Technician supports engineering teams under general supervision, performing technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices. This role uses digital tools and design software such as Autodesk Civil 3D, PVcase and PVFarm to prepare, update, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • Performs technical tasks requiring intermediate knowledge of engineering principles and practices
  • Uses digital tools and design software (e.g., CAD, BIM, 3D modeling)
  • Creates, updates, and maintains technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables
  • Begins providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineering technicians
  • Stays current on applicable standards, systems, document control practices, departmental guides, and BV policies and procedures
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail while supporting continuous improvement and change management initiatives
  • Uses and expands applications and tools to evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures
  • Creates and develops project deliverables based on a variety of design inputs
  • Coordinates deliverables with other project groups to minimize errors and interferences
  • Supports internal client needs while developing an understanding of external client priorities and drivers
  • Proactively seeks out, shares, and applies knowledge of new technologies and evolving processes

Requirements

Diploma or Certificate required. Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred. Minimum of 2 years related work experience.

Pay

Compensation ranges from $60,676 - $101,332 annually, depending on location and experience.

Schedule

This role offers a hybrid or flexible work option after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance, and work assignments.
