ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Aid in small group and individual pupil instruction.
- Assist the special education teacher in maintaining discipline.
- Support the teacher during instructional activities.
- Escort students between rooms.
- Occasionally assist with toileting students.
- Supervise students during recess and lunch.
- Help with classroom assignments and material preparation.
- Assist in filing and paperwork.
- Inform teachers about observed issues.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
- Two years of college credit or an associate's degree.
- Successful completion of a paraprofessional assessment covering content knowledge and instructional support.
- Basic computer skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Be aware of district requirements and Board of Education policies.
