Citrix Systems Administrator
About the role
The Citrix Systems Administrator supports the National Media Exploitation Center (NMEC) by providing operations support to customers across multiple geographic locations. Responsibilities include maintaining and enhancing existing Citrix VDI environments, implementing new solutions, driving adoption of thin-client platforms, and ensuring high-quality user experiences.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 3 operations support for Citrix technologies including XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler, and StoreFront.
- Monitor and troubleshoot Citrix infrastructure to prevent outages and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to plan and execute modernization efforts.
- Conduct network latency analysis and implement solutions to improve user experience.
- Implement and manage version and architectural changes to ensure system operability and security.
- Coordinate with other teams for testing and deployment of Group Policy modifications.
- Manage server backups, restore environments based on usage trends, and monitor license and certificate status.
- Work with customers to resolve incidents and implement solutions.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for systems and services under your control.
- Mentor and train junior team members.
Requirements
Experience with Citrix technologies, including XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler, and StoreFront, is essential. Extensive knowledge of patch and upgrade methodologies is required. Familiarity with ITIL and DoD IT standards is beneficial. Strong communication and problem-solving skills are necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience, or a combination of experience and education.
- DoD 8570.11-IAT Level II certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, GSEC, or SSCP).
- Experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
Skills
Proficiency in scripting and automation tools, strong time management skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are crucial.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $92,300.00 - $166,850.00 annually.
Schedule
This is a 100% on-site position requiring full-time, permanent employment at the customer site in Bethesda, Maryland.
