Citation Aircraft Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift - 1065

On-site, full-time position in Chattanooga, TN, USA. 2nd shift schedule: Monday–Thursday, 3:00 PM–1:00 AM, with a 10%–15% shift premium, paid lunch, and three-day weekends. Formal airframe training provided; eligibility to transfer to 1st shift after three years.

About the role

As an Aircraft Maintenance Technician at West Star, you will perform a wide range of mechanical tasks on sophisticated civilian aircraft, including troubleshooting electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, conducting inspections, and repairing or replacing components. Responsibilities

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems
• Remove and install panels and components
• Troubleshoot and resolve aircraft system or component issues
• De-fuel aircraft
• Perform engine removal and installation
• Operate ground support equipment
• Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components
• Assist in aircraft movement, performance runs, and taxiing
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling
• Navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases using basic computer skills
• Communicate effectively in English (speaking, writing, reading)
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport (ideal but not mandatory)
• Airframe or Powerplant license (specific requirements vary by level; see Qualifications)
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and perform routine physical tasks such as walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and working in small or restricted areas
• Stand for long periods and work in varied positions around the aircraft
• Work in a hangar environment with extreme temperature variations and occasional outdoor work during aircraft runs
• Reliable transportation to ensure consistent attendance
• Willingness to work overtime and weekend assignments as needed
• Adhere to Federal Aviation Administration guidelines and company safety rules
• Professional, customer-oriented work habits

Qualifications

• AMT I: Airframe or Powerplant license required (Airframe preferred). 0–2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar. Limited to moderate knowledge of general maintenance; requires close supervision.
• AMT II: Airframe or Powerplant license required (Airframe preferred). 2–4 years of experience in aviation maintenance; experience on corporate aircraft preferred but not essential. Considerable knowledge of general maintenance; requires general supervision for routine tasks and detailed instruction for new or special assignments.
• AMT III: Airframe license required; Powerplant license highly preferred. 4–6+ years of experience in aviation maintenance; experience on corporate aircraft highly preferred. Full knowledge of general, detailed, and special assignments in aircraft maintenance.
• AMT IV (Master): Airframe and Powerplant license required. 6+ years of experience in aviation maintenance with extensive experience on corporate aircraft platforms. Subject matter expert in all areas of the job.

Supervision
